Hoisin Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Serves four

Ingredients

  • 1-pound extra lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup chopped carrots and cabbage / slaw
  • 12 Bibb lettuce leaves

Sauce for cooked ground turkey

  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 – 2 teaspoon chili paste
  • 1 –teaspoon peanut oil
Seasoning mixture for ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • ½ cup green onions diced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon of crushed black pepper

Seasonings for chopped carrots and cabbage
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Mix ingredients for sauce in a small dish and set aside.

Chop carrots and cabbage slaw length wise in small sticks to fill 1 cup. Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and toss. Set aside.

Combine seasoning mixture for extra lean ground turkey in a small dish and mix thoroughly and set aside

Brown extra lean ground turkey over a medium high heat. When meat just begins to brown add seasoning mixture and continue to brown for another 3 to 5 minutes.

Serve approx 1/3 cup of ground turkey into lettuce wraps. Spoon a tablespoon of sauce on meat, and top with pinch of carrot and cabbage slaw.
